Problems in Tumour Pathology - Dr. Daisuke Nonaka

Case 1

Male 63 years

Patient with a history of hypertension and atrial fibrillation presented with a stroke. He also complained of mild left-sided pleuritic pain. A CT scan of the chest revealed a mass in the anterior mediastinum. He underwent an anterior mediastinum exploration, which showed a mass in the thymus. Total thymectomy was performed. The mass was encapsulated and slightly adherent to the adjacent structures without evidence of invasion. The excised mass was in the thymus and it measured 6 x 5 x 3cm and it was well-circumscribed, and enclosed in a fibrous capsule.
