From Thailand, studying in the UK. Presented with lethargy - Hb 81g/l with MCV 58.8 and RDW 31%. Blood film provided.

Male 63 years

Anaemia and IgG paraprotein (50g/l). Trephine biopsy (H&E), trephine biopsy (Giemsa).





Case 5

Female 14 months

Presented UTI. Noted to have hepatosplenomegaly and the following blood count parameters - Hb 45g/l WCC 16.5 x 10^9/l Platelets 246 x 10^9/l MCV 83. Father gives very similar family history but blood count parameters are now as follows - Hb 141 g/l WCC 12.0 x 10^9/l and Platelets 689 x 10^9/l.
