Male 51 years

Open radical nephrectomy (left). History of frank haematuria. CT scan identifed left renal mass. Open radical nephrectomy performed.

Macro: Kidney weighing 1,237g, 14.5 x 14.0 x10cm largely replaced by a multinodular tan encapsulated tumour 13.9 x 12.9 x 9cm. Central stellate area of calcification. Scant residual renal parenchyma in upper and lower poles. Collecting system dilated. No sinus involvement or extrarenal extension.

Immunohistochemistry:
Keratin 7, CD117, EMA and CD10 diffusely positive. Vimentin, KR903 and AMACR negative. Hale's colloidal iron positive.

Bladder chips. Urinary retention Small papillary tumour on right side trigone.

Macro: Bladder chips weighing approx 1g.

Female 63 years

Radical nephrectomy. Radical nephrectomy for cystic renal mass.

Macro: Radical nephrectomy containing an extensively cystic tumour with some solid areas. The tumour measures up to 3.2 cm in size and appears confined to the kidney macroscopically.

Immunohistochemistry:
Strong diffuse CK7 positivity. Patchy 34betaE12 expression. Negative for CD10, RCC, AMACR.

T 04

Male 29 years

Left testis and cord. Left intratesticular cystic lesion - susipcious on ultrasound. Radical orchidectomy performed.

Macro: Intact testis with overlying freely mobile tunica vaginalis. Bissecting reveals a white walled, multilocular cystic structure measuring 11mm diameter and containing clear fluid. The esion is confined to the testis macroscopically.

None.

Bladder tumour. Previous G2pT1 TCC. Solid recurrence at right UO.

Macro: Pale chippings measuring 25x15x4mm.

Immunohistochemistry:
Majority of tumour shows CD56+ with Ki67>90%. Some areas show CK5+ and CK20+. CK7-.

Testis. Right testicular tumour.

Macro: Enlarged testis measuring 70x42x45mm. On serial slicing a circumscribed tumour having lobulated borders is noted measuring 48 x 45 x 40mm. The tumour has a variegated cut surface with solid white fleshy areas, haemorrhagic foci, cystic areas with yellow mucinous material and necrosis.

Immunohistochemistry:

Vas deferens. Redo vasectomy.

Macro: A segment of vas measuring 12 mm long.

Kidney. ? RCC, left kidney.

Macro: Partial nephrectomy specimen containing a well defined mass (50 x 50 x 40mm). On sectioning, the mass is soft with whitish nodules and areas of haemorrhage.

Immunohistochemistry:
The lesional cells express Cam 5.2, CK7, PAX-8, vimentin and focal EMA. There is negative staining for 34BE12 and CD10.

Macro: A kidney measuring 85 x 60 x 45mm with attached 120mm of ureter. The upper pole contains a firm, friable white coloured tumour measuring 33 x 22 x 20mm. The tumour extends into an upper pole calyx.

Left partial nephrectomy. Renal mass left upper pole compatible with RCC on CT scan.

Macro: A partial nephrectomy 7.58g, 35 x 26 x 18mm containing a fairly well defined but unencapsulated pink-brown tumour measuring up to 19mm in maximum dimension. Tumour appears to extend to the cut resection margin (green ink).

Immunohistochemistry:
CKC negative, SMA positive, Vimentin positive, Melan-A positive, HMB45 weak positive.
