Right testicle and cord, U/S appearance of Testicular tumour on right side.

Specimen: R testicle and cord.

Macro: Testicle with attached spermatic cord and coverings altogether weighing 64g. The spermatic cord measurres 75mm long by up to 17mm in external diameter. The testicle externally measures 60x45x38mm. The spermatic cord upon slicing shows no focal lesion. Slicing of the testicle reveals a firm white grey circumscribed solitary nodule measuring 35x27mm across the cut surface by 30mm medio-laterally. The cut surface appears homogenous throughout with small brown foci up to 7mm across. The tumour abuts the tunica focally but appears to be confined within the testicle.

Immunohistochemistry:
Positive for CD30 and AEI/3 within the areas of embryonal carcinoma, positive for CD117 and Oct3/4 within the areas of seminoma and ITGCN, focally positive for AFP in the areas of yolk sac tumour and embryonal carcinoma, patchy postitivity for PLAP, diffuse weak positivity for HCG.
