5 cm right renal mass.



Specimen: Laparoscopic right radical nephrectomy.

Macro: 50 mm lower pole tumour abutting renal sinus fat and renal capsule. Tumour well circumscribed, solid, and friable, tan in colour. No central scar. Focal haemorrhage, but no large necrotic areas.

Female 45 years

Partial nephrectomy for 2 cm lower pole renal tumour.



Specimen: Renal tumour.

Macro: Partial nephrectomy with 16 mm exophytic tumour.

Immunohistochemistry:
None done, diagnosis done on morphological grounds only.

Attempted partial nephrectomy, but extensive tumour into renal sinus, therefore full nephrectomy.



Specimen: Right radical nephrectomy.

Macro: On Section there is a white and grey tumour measuring 25x7x 45 mm. The tumour lies 1mm from the renal capsule.

History of superficial TCC bladder. Red patches in bladder - biopsy to rule out CIS.

Specimen: Left radical nephrectomy.

Macro: Haemorrhagic and necrotic 14 cm tumour in lower pole of kidney. No invasion of perirenal or sinus fat seen.

Macro: Pale chippings weighing 15.5gms. All embedded.

Immunohistochemistry:
Positive for synaptophysin, CAM 5.2, TTF-1, CD56 and chromogranin. PSA, HMWCK, p53 and CK7 are negative.

Male 39 years

4 cm lower pole tumour - solid and cystic mass.



Specimen: Left partial nephrectomy.

Macro: Partial nephrectomy 65 (med/lat) x 37 (sup/inf) x 40 mm (ant/post). Perirenal fat stripped off by clinicians + clear. Tumour 30 x 30 x 37 mm, well circumscribed 6 mm from resection margin. Capsule attached to perirenal fat piece and clear rep section of tumour, but capsule stripped off weighing 120g.

Immunohistochemistry:

Male 55 years

Paraplegic. Bladder tumour.



Specimen: Bladder tumour. Radical cystoprostatectomy.

Macro: On slicing the bladder reveals an infiltrative growing solid white tumour mass on the anterior wall (3.1 x 2.2 cm with a max thickness of 1.8 mm) invading through the entire thickness of the wall into the narrow anterior perivesical fatty tissue; anterior margin is 3 mm away. Tumour was extravesicle.

Immunohistochemistry:
Lymphoid cells CD23 negative.

Male 75 years

Bladder tumour.



Specimen: TURBT.

Macro: 3 grams of tissue fragments, All embedded.

Immunohistochemistry:
Synaptophysin and chromogranin A strongly positive. S100 positive around tumour nests. AE1/3, CAM 5.2, 34 betaE12, CK7, CK20, PSA and PSAP negative.

Male 39 years

Lump in testis noted 3 weeks ago.



Specimen: Testis.

Macro: Solid grey/white fleshy tumour, 46 mm size, almost completely replacing the testes.

Immunohistochemistry:
PLAP strong positive. AE1/3 and CD30 negative

Male 83 years

Ulcerated lesion involving proximal glans and penile shaft. Bilateral enlarged groin lymph nodes.



Specimen: Radical Penectomy.

Macro: Radical Penectomy. Circumferential ulcerated and indurated area surrounding distal penis and part of glans, mainly corona. Patient already circumcised. Corporal heads and urethra normal and well away from lesion. Lymph nodes contained macroscopic tumour.
