Female 67 years

Ca rectum 1985 - DXT and anterior resection 1985. Large bladder tumour on right wall/dome ?TCC. ?Recurrence. Incomplete resection.

Immunohistochemistry:
CD56 +, TTF1 +, CK7 -, CK20 -, EMA.



Specimen: Bladder tissue.

Macro: Fragments of bladder tissue.

Female 75 years

Tumour upper pole right kidney. Nephrectomy performed.



Specimen: Nephrectomy specimen.

Macro: On gross examination the kidney showed a circumscribed soft brownish nodule measuring 35 x 33mm situated in the outer cortex and bulging into the perinephric fat.

Female 38 years

Long-standing chronic urinary symptoms. Found to have bladder tumour. Given neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by cystectomy.



Specimen: Cystectomy specimen.

Macro: None given.

Male 47 years

Solid lesion adherent to lower pole of testis. Said to be epididymal on ultrasound.

Immunohistochemistry:
Positive for AE1/3. Negative for CD31. Positive for Alcan Blue (hyaluronidase sensitive). Negative for Epithelial mucin.



Specimen: Lower pole testis/?epididymis.

Macro: 10mm diameter firm pale nodule.

Male 56 years

Laparoscopic left nephrectomy for tumour.

Immunohistochemistry:
CK7 (+), EMA membranous positivity, CD10 (-), AE1/AE3 (+), PAS (+).



Specimen: Partial left nephrectomy.

Macro: Partial nephrectomy 30 x 30 x 40mm. Cut surface shows a well circumscribed tumour measuring 25 x 25 x 25mm. Cut surface is greyish white. Does not breach capsule. Clear of margins.

Male 92 years

?Squamous cell carcinoma.

Immunohistochemistry:
S100, Melan A, HMB45 positive.



Specimen: Penile biopsy.

Macro: Haemorrhagic mass of tissue, 6.5 x 4.5 x 3.5cm.

Tumour at bladder neck. ?Some normal prostate removed as well.



Specimen: Bladder chips.

Macro: 5.6g of tissue chips. All processed in 4 blocks. Sections from representative block circulated.

Lesion left spermatic cord. Clinically left inguinal hernia was suspected. Mass lesion, 34 x 20 x 18mm was found.

Immunohistochemistry:
a -SMA positive in spindle cell nodular areas (CD34 negative); CD34 positive away from spindle cell nodular areas ( a-SMA negative). Desmin, h-caldesmon, S100 protein and MNF116 negative throughout.



Specimen: Left spermatic cord.

Macro: Grey brown tissue with a pale area 15mm across.

Male 76 years

Suspicious testicular lesion on ultrasound.

Immunohistochemistry:
Positive for Alpha-Inhibin, Calretinin and Vimentin. Negative for AE1/3, PLAP, CD30 and PSA.



Specimen: Testis.

Macro: Rather poorly defined light brown nodule in subcapsular area of testis. 11mm diameter.

Male 72 years

Left renal tumour, some nodes on CT sent en bloc.



Specimen: Renal tumour.

Macro: Two tumours present, the larger maximum diameter 57mm, the smaller maximum diameter 22mm and extending into perinephric fat. Both tumours have brownish cut surfaces, with no obvious scars. Section from smaller lesion.

Male 63 years

FOR EDUCATION AND INTEREST ONLY. Presented with pyrexia, cough, night sweats. Scans showed right renal mass and multiple pulmonary metastases.

Immunohistochemistry:
Positive for CK7, CK5/6 and 34BE12. Negative for CK20, TTF1 and Calretinin.



Specimen: Right nephrectomy.

Macro: 10.5 x 8 x 7.5cm haemorrhagic and yellow tumour in right kidney.

Male 76 years

FOR EDUCATION AND INTEREST ONLY. Tetraplegia. On urinary catheter for 30 years. Presented with haematuria and a solid bladder tumour. TURBT performed.
