Macro: Fragments of bladder tissue.

Tumour upper pole right kidney. Nephrectomy performed.



Specimen: Nephrectomy specimen.

Macro: On gross examination the kidney showed a circumscribed soft brownish nodule measuring 35 x 33mm situated in the outer cortex and bulging into the perinephric fat.

Solid lesion adherent to lower pole of testis. Said to be epididymal on ultrasound.

Immunohistochemistry:
Positive for AE1/3. Negative for CD31. Positive for Alcan Blue (hyaluronidase sensitive). Negative for Epithelial mucin.



Specimen: Lower pole testis/?epididymis.

Macro: 10mm diameter firm pale nodule.

Laparoscopic left nephrectomy for tumour.

Immunohistochemistry:
CK7 (+), EMA membranous positivity, CD10 (-), AE1/AE3 (+), PAS (+).



Specimen: Partial left nephrectomy.

Macro: Partial nephrectomy 30 x 30 x 40mm. Cut surface shows a well circumscribed tumour measuring 25 x 25 x 25mm. Cut surface is greyish white. Does not breach capsule. Clear of margins.

Lesion left spermatic cord. Clinically left inguinal hernia was suspected. Mass lesion, 34 x 20 x 18mm was found.

Immunohistochemistry:
a -SMA positive in spindle cell nodular areas (CD34 negative); CD34 positive away from spindle cell nodular areas ( a-SMA negative). Desmin, h-caldesmon, S100 protein and MNF116 negative throughout.



Specimen: Left spermatic cord.

Macro: Grey brown tissue with a pale area 15mm across.

Suspicious testicular lesion on ultrasound.

Immunohistochemistry:
Positive for Alpha-Inhibin, Calretinin and Vimentin. Negative for AE1/3, PLAP, CD30 and PSA.

Macro: Rather poorly defined light brown nodule in subcapsular area of testis. 11mm diameter.

Left renal tumour, some nodes on CT sent en bloc.



Specimen: Renal tumour.

Macro: Two tumours present, the larger maximum diameter 57mm, the smaller maximum diameter 22mm and extending into perinephric fat. Both tumours have brownish cut surfaces, with no obvious scars. Section from smaller lesion.

Immunohistochemistry:

Macro: 10.5 x 8 x 7.5cm haemorrhagic and yellow tumour in right kidney.
