Female 90 years

Bladder tumour in diverticulum.



Specimen: Bladder tumour.

Macro: 6 g of bladder chippings.

AD 02

Male 34 years

Left testicular tumour on U/S. Normal markers. L radical orchidectomy.



Specimen: Left orchidectomy.

Macro: White tumour in lower half of the testis 10mm in diameter.

Immunohistochemistry:
Immunohistochemistry shows patchy moderately strong positivity for MNF116 and AE1/3, with focal staining for CAM5.2. Vimentin and CD56 are strongly positive. Steroogenic factor-1 (SF-1) is weakly positive in tumour cells. Beta catenin is weak nuclear staining in a proportion of tumour cells. Ki-67/MIB1 stains approximately 1% of tumour cell nuclei. The following are negative in tumour cells: calretinin, OCT4, chromogranin, synaptophysin, melan-A, CD30, EMA and inhibin.

Male 28 years

Small abnormal looking left testis, no spermatozoa.



Specimen: Left testis.

Macro: Left testis weight 13.7g, measure 24X16X12mm on cut surface well circumscribed brown homogenous tumour occupying the whole testicular parenchyma.

Immunohistochemistry:
Pancytokeratin positive, Plap Oct4 negative, KI67 index low.

Female 63 years

6.3cm right lower pole mass.



Specimen: Laproscopic excision of renal mass.

Macro: Multiple friable fibrous and fatty tissue fragments, 8cm in aggregate. No normal renal parenchyma identified.

Immunohistochemistry:
Patchy, weak positivity for HMB45 and MelanA.

AD 05

Male 75 years

Right testicular mass, normal testicular markers and full blood count.



Specimen: Right testicular mass.

Macro: Right testis and coverings, 70 x 43 x 21 mm, with an attached length of a normal-appearing spermatic cord, 60 x 17 mm. Upon sectioning and bivalving, there is a single solid-cystic mass, 38 mm in its greatest diameter. It is composed of rosy-white and friable tissue with sponge-like cystic areas filled with clear fluid.

Immunohistochemistry:
CD30 and OCT3/4 are negative; CD117 strongly and diffusely positive.

Specimen: Nephrectomy **digital only**.

Macro: Kidney with a 75mm well circumscribed cream coloured mass with possible extension intro perinephric fat.

Cytokeratin 7 provided.


AD 08

Male 66 years

Left testis tumour, query cancer.



Specimen: Left testis and cord **digital only**.

Macro: Testis measures 78 x 52 x 52 mm with attached cord measuring 125mm in length and 18mm in diameter. Testis appears enlarged and cystic. No tunica breach is seen . Slicing reveals a testicular cystic tumour with the presence of pale friable debris. The tumour measures 50 x 43 x 51 mm. Background testis is unremarkable.

Immunohistochemistry:
Not done.

Male 85 years

Soft tumour right kidney ? Necrotic ? Non-malignant.



Specimen: Core biopsy, renal mass **digital only**.

Macro: Multiple cores and fragments, the longest 5mm.

Immunohistochemistry:
Diffuse strong staining for CD117, and negative staining for RCC antigen. CK7 provided.

Male 60 years

Bladder tumour resection/biopsy done for lesion on left anterior lateral wall. TCC or external tumour spreading onto urinary bladder?

Macro: Multiple fleshy fragments altogether measuring 12mm.

Locally advanced bladder tumour.



Specimen: Cystectomy **digital only**.

Macro: Bladder, with urethra, uterus, cervix, anterior vagina, fallopian tubes and ovaries. There is a right-sided bladder tumour showing invasion into perivesical fat. The section submitted extends from the bladder to vagina.

Female 50 years

Urachal tumour.



Specimen: Urachal tumour **digital only**

Macro: Star shaped piece of tissue 28 x 23 x 25mm, with a nodule at one edge of the mucosa .The remainder of the attached fatty tissue measures 85 x 82 x 7mm. The cut surface of the nodule reveals a firm yellow mass measuring 12 x 10 x 10mm. The surgical mucosal margin surrounding the tumour is inked blue. The edge of the fatty tissue is inked orange.

Immunohistochemistry:
Positive for chromogranin and synaptophysin; with sustentacular cells positive for S100. Negative for CK7, CK20, AE1/3, Melan A and HMB45. Ki67 index is approximately 1%. SDHB staining is retained.
