AB 01

Male 75 years

Partial nephrectomy.

Specimen: Partial nephrectomy.

Macro: Partial nephrectomy, left - Measuring 60 x 45 x 25mm. The specimen mainly contains fatty tissue with a fibrous capsule on one surface measuring 60 x 45mm. The other surface is ruptured and necrotic. Slicing of the specimen reveals a fatty cut surface with a central haemorrhagic cystic area, which measures 28 x 25mm, reaching the irregular parenchymal margin. Macroscopically, no renal parenchyma is identified.

Immunohistochemistry:
None.

AB 02

Male 90 years

Hard lump left testis.

Specimen: Left testis.

Macro: Testis with attached cord and surrounding fatty tissue. The testis measures 70 x 30 x 20 mm with attached cord and the surrounding fatty tissue together measures 80 mm in length and 15 mm in diameter. The upper part of the specimen appears to be cystic ?hydrocoele. On bisecting the specimen there is serous fluid within the hydrocoele sac and the testis is quite small and it measures 35 x 25 x 20 mm and shows diffuse grey/white cut surface ?atrophic. On further slicing a small well circumscribed lesion is present with haemorrhagic surface. This area measures 8 x 8 mm. There are two surrounding whitish yellowish areas around it and these areas measure 5 and 2 mm in diameter. A haemorrhagic area with surrounding pale area together measures about 20 mm.

Immunohistochemistry:
NKX3.1 - submitted. Oct3/4 and CD30 stains are both negative.

AB 03

Male 74 years

Renal tumour.

Specimen: Right nephrectomy.

Macro: Kidney measures 140 x 85 x 65mm. On slicing there is a solid tumour occupying the upper pole of the kidney, maximum diameter of 122mm, and bearing a light brown cut surface.

Immunohistochemistry:
Tumour cells positive for CD117, E-Cadherin, diffusely positive for CK7. Negative for Vimentin, CD10, RCC.

AB 04

Male 51 years

Nephrectomy.

Specimen: Right kidney.

Macro: Pale sclerotic tumour based in upper two thirds pelvi-calyceal system and infiltrating renal parenchyma.

Immunohistochemistry:
Positive for p63,34BE12, Ecadherin, EMA, CK7, CD10, CEA. Racemase neg.

AB 05

Male 36 years

Renal transplant patient. Native non-functioning kidney removed.

Specimen: Nephrectomy.

Macro: Incidental finding in native kidney.

Immunohistochemistry:
Positive for CD10, vimentin, racemase and focal CK7.

AB 06

Male 74 years

Previous HG Urothelial carcinoma pT1.

Specimen: TURBT.

Macro: Multiple chips of tissue.

Immunohistochemistry:
CD56 included.

AB 07

Male 68 years

Incidental diagnosis during evaluation of cirrhosis. Bilateral complex renal cysts. Single exophytic solid/cystic lesion that enlarged from 3 to 4 cm in 12 months. Partial nephrectomy of this lesion.

Specimen: Kidney.

Macro: Circumscribed solid and cystic tumour (4.2 cm) left kidney.

Immunohistochemistry:
CK7 and 34BE12 positive, racemase is negative.

AB 08

Female 38 years

Right renal mass.

Specimen: Right partial nephrectomy.

Macro: Partial nephrectomy 60x45x22mm including a smooth lobule of fatty tissue 55mm in diameter.

Immunohistochemistry:
Not performed.

AB 09

Male 85 years

Testicular mass. Normal tumour markers.

Specimen: testis.

Macro: lobulated cream tumour up to 50 mm.

Immunohistochemistry:
positive with CD 117. Negative with PLAP, OCT3/4 and CD30.

AB10

Female 74 years

Renal mass.

Specimen: left nephrectomy.

Macro: 55mm, partially cystic/solid lesion in lower pole of kidney. No macroscopic invasion of renal vein, hilar or perinephric fat.

Immunohistochemistry:
Stromal component positive for ER and PR.

AB11

Male 75 years

Cystectomy for muscle invasive bladder cancer.

Specimen: Cystectomy.

Macro: Cystectomy with prostate and bladder. The prostate measures 45mm transversely with a length of 25mm. The bladder measures 70 x 70 x 50mm with serosal fat extending for 40mm. On opening there is a large area of ulceration on the right lateral wall measuring 30 x 25 x 5mm. There is some haemorrhagic areas on the anterior bladder wall as well.

Immunohistochemistry:
none.

AB12

Male 64 years

Circumcision for suspicious inflammation surrounding glans - pinned to card, orientated and marked.

Specimen: Foreskin.

Macro: a foreskin pinned to a board measuring 95 x 30 x 5mm. The penile shaft margin skin appears unremarkable. The glans coronal margin has a brown discolouration measuring 20 x 20mm on one side and 30 x 12mm on the other side. There is no hyperkeratosis. Macroscopic photograph taken. Penile shaft margin inked green, glans margin inked black. Sectioned from dorsal slit on the patient left side to dorsal slit on the right side, frenulum area taken in A5.The majority of tissue is taken apart from small amounts of tissue from the dorsal slit area.
