Excisional biospy of skin lesion on the back. >2 year history of progressive scarring. ?Fibrosis to back. ?Dermatofibroma.

Macroscopic description:
An ellipse of skin with some subcutaneous tissue measuring 60x30x20mm. There is a depressed scar on the surface with a diameter of 20mm. Serial slicing reveals diffuse fibrosis of the dermis and subcutaneous tissue.

Incisional skin biopsy. Undergoing chemotherapy for haematological malignancy. New "skin lesion" developed on left upper anterior chest wall.

Macroscopic description:
A skin ellipse measuring 18x5x10mm. Cream coloured dermal nodule noted on section.

Immunohistochemistry:
Cells forming the infiltrate stain positively with antibodies to CD4, CD33, CD43, CD68 (focal), CD117, CD123 and myeloperoxidase. Negative for CD3, CD7, CD10, CD20, CD34, CD56, CD61, CD79a, CD303 (BDCA2), TdT and glycophorin A.

Macroscopic description:
Incisional biopsy of skin measuring 10x4x10mm. Positive for CD2, CD3, loss of CD5, loss of CD7, CD4, and CD8 postive. CD30 is negative, few CD20 positive B cells.

4mm punch biopsy from skin of abdomen. 34 weeks pregnant in 3rd pregnancy. History of possible pemphigoid gestationis in first pregnancy. Presents with erythematous eruption umbilical and periumbilical area but no blisters at time of biopsy. Skin subsequently blistered over the following week.

Immunohistochemistry:
direct immunofluorescence of perilesional skin showed linear C3 deposititon along the basement membrane and no staining for IgG, IgA, IgM or fibrinogen. Indirect immunofluorescence on monkey oesophagus showed no staining.
