Large erythematous plaques arms and thighs ? granuloma annulare.

Specimen: Skin incisional biopsy.

Macroscopic description:
Ellipse of skin 14 x 6 x 3mm, surface slightly raised towards one edge. Bisected.

Immunohistochemistry:
No immuno-histochemistry but alcian blue staining shows slight increase in dermal mucin.

Macroscopic description:
A fragment of grey fleshy tissue measuring 7 x 5 x 3mm. Bisected to reveal a firm grey cut surface.

Immunohistochemistry:
Immunohistochemistry for SMA and h-caldesmon is positive in the lesional cells.

Specimen: Excision right posterior forearm.

Macroscopic description:
A skin ellipse measuring 10 x 8 x 4 mm in depth. Centrally there is a pigmented lesion that measures 4 mm in maximum diameter and is 2 mm from the nearest margin. The excision margins are inked green. Serially sliced and all embedded.

Incisional biopsy left preauricular cheek: skin ellipse 1.2 x 0.5 x 0.3cm. Bisected longitudinally. EG/CF.
