Male 77 years

T1 SCC tongue excised 11 months ago. Now complaint of tongue bite.

Specimen: Debulking of left lateral tongue.

Macroscopic description:
Tissue 51 x 22 x 9 mm with irregular, thickened mucosal surface.

Left posterior tongue, raised mucosa-covered lesion. Sore throat and lump left posterior for 2 months. Smokes 30-40 cigarettes per day. Exophytic.

Smooth surfaced nodule, 32x20x13mm. Partly haemorrhagic on sectioning, remainder uniform and firm.

Immunohistochemistry:
Cells are chromogranin positive, S-100 positive cells at margins of cell groups.
