Macro: 45mm mass of inflammed tissue with 35mm appendix within. Appendix bent through 90 degrees.

Female 46 years

Anus. Perianal exterior growth, oozing, bleeding, fell off in shower.

Macro: Multiple tissue pieces 1cc in aggregate.

Male 65 years

Large intestine. Ileocaecactomy.

Macro: 440mm of terminal ileum and 90mm of caecum/large bowel. The external surface of the specimen appears dusky and haemorrhagic with slight fibrinous exudate. The small bowel wall shows patchy areas of thinning.

Female 43 years

Pancreas. Distal pancreas lesion.

Macro: Distal pancreatectomy for a 55 mm diameter cystic structure with haemorrhagic content. It does not communicate with the main pancreatic duct. Internal thin septa are present focally. The cyst is clear of the pancreatic transection margin. Slide submitted represents cyst wall and adjacent pancreas.

Male 29 years

Small intestine. Coeliac serology positive. TTG IgA 54.0 U/ml. Very mildly atrophic duodenal mucosa.

Macro: Four biopsies, the largest 4mm.

Female 91 years

Stomach. Previous gastric carcinoid. Pre pyloric erosions - H. pylori, carcinoid?

Macro: Pre-cassetted biopsies.

Female 63 years

Large intestine. Endoscopy : ileal and colonic sessile polyps and diverticulosis. This is a sigmoid polyp.

Macro: Tan sessile polyp 10X8x4mm; TSX3, all embedded.

Female 71 years

Stomach. Anaemia (iron deficient) and dysphagia.

Macro: 3 biopsies 2-5mm plus fragments.

Specials: None.

Male 50 years

Large intestine. Sigmoid colon polyp.

Macro: Sessile polyp 7x5x4mm.

Female 55 years

Large intestine. 2mm flat polyp in sigmoid colon.

Macro: Biopsy 4mm.

Specials: S100+, vimentin+, desmin-, smooth muscle actin-.
