Stomach. Adenomatous like plaques in proximal stomach.

Macro: Single piece of tissue, 2mm max (endoscopic biopsy).

Specials: The lesional cells are AE1/3 and Cam5.2 negative and CD68 positive.

Male 64 years

Stomach. Gastric polyp.

Macro: Polyp 23x15x15mm with stalk measuring 10mm.

Specials: None.

Female 80 years

Stomach. Anaemia, melaena, gastric ulcer.

Macro: An open Cellsafe containing 5 biopsies from 4mm to <1mm in size.

Specials: Foreign material positive with Perl's stain.

Female 31 years

Small intestine. Diarrhoea. Faecal calprotectin 580. Normal colonoscopy. Biopsy from terminal ieum.

Macro: 4 tissue fragments.

Specials: None.

Female 58 years

Small intestine. Jejunal polypectomy at 3.6m, performed at double balloon enteroscopy.

Macro: A pedunculated polyp 17x7x7 mm with an oblique 3 mm stalk with a cross section of 3x1 mm. Specimen asymmetrically bisected and all embedded.

Specials: None.

Female 44 years

Pancreas. Tumour in tail of pancreas involving stomach. ?pancreatic neuroendocrine tumour.

Macro: This is distal pancreas measuring 100 x 40 x 20mm with attached spleen measuring 140 x 80 x 35mm. There is a firm mass palpable between pancreas and spleen and adherent to this is a wedge of stomach measuring 95 x 30 x 20mm. Also attached is a piece of omentum measuring 620 x 130mm. On section there is a 25mm diameter cystic lesion which lies 55mm from the proximal resection margin containing purulent material. Distal to this there is fibrosis extending through the fat towards the stomach. The cyst wall contains a 7mm pale yellow nodule. No definite tumour is seen on the mucosal surface of the stomach.

Large intestine. EMR of rectosigmoid polyp.

Macro: Polyp 10x8x7mm. Bisected and all embedded.

Female 52 years

Large intestine. Ascending colon polyp.

Macro: Polypoid tissue 10x6x5mm.

Specials: None.

Female 56 years

Large intestine. Polyp at colonoscopy.

Macro: Grey polypoid piece of tissue received measuring 12 x 6 x 5 mm with no visible stalk. Presumed base inked black. Bisected and all embedded.

Specials: Vimentin positive, CD34 patchy. Negative for broad spectrum cytokeratin, S100, CD68, SMA, desmin, CD117, DOG-1, EMA, synaptophysin and CD56.

Female 70 years

Gall bladder. Gallstones.

Macro: Previously opened gall bladder (75 x 30 x 15 mm) with a 3 mm thick wall and focally ulcerated mucosa. Gall stones are not included. A1 = cystic duct and fundus. A2 = body.
