Enlarging right adrenal mass 5cm in diameter. Past history of melanoma. No known secondary elsewhere ? Melanoma ? other tumour. Adrenalectomy weighing 100g, replaced by pale hemorrhagic tumour up to 7cm. The adrenal gland was replaced by a tumour comprising cells with eosinophilic cytoplasm, vesicular nuclei, and prominent nucleoli, which were focally markedly enlarged and bizarre. The tumour cells were S100, HMB45 & melan A +ve (adrenal cortex also positive for melan A).
