Thoracic. Right Pneumonectomy. Previous right empyema. Central right lung cancer.

Macroscopic description:
Right lung containing an ill defined tumour 120 x 120 x 100mm occupying most of the lower lobe. The tumour has a mucoid cut surface. The overlying pleura is think and fibrous

Female 49 years

Skin. Jelly-like lesion - left temple.

Macroscopic description:
Elliptical piece if skin 15 x 9 x 3mm with a central pale, smooth lesion 9 x 7 x 3mm

Male 70 years

Thoracic. Anterior Mediastinal Mass. AVR and CABG today. Findings: Anterior mediastinal mass closely applied to anterior surface of right ventricle.

Macroscopic description:
Firm dark tissue partly enclosed by adipose tissue, overall 25 x 15 x 12mm. The cut surface is firm and haemorrhagic.

Male 59 years

Gastrointestinal. Sigmoid colectomy. Previous history of colitis and known to have multiple sigmoid colonic polyps. Clinical differentials ?sequential Crohn's disease with pseudopolyposis ?diverticular disease.

Macroscopic description:
A segment of sigmoid colon showing multiple polypoid mucosal excrescences, the largest 3.5cm in maximum dimension, which on sectioning show a conspicuous mucoid component. The smaller mucosal polyps have a "worm like" appearance. The background mucosa showed diverticular disease. The slide is a representative section from the largest polypoid excrescence.

Breast. Left mastectomy.

Macroscopic description:
Circumscribed hard mass 12mm at 2 o'clock.

Male 31 years

Endocrine. Left thyroid lobectomy. Solitary nodule, left thyroid (FNA THY3). Left total lobectomy done.

Macroscopic description:
Left thyroid lobectomy, on slicing there is a well circumscribed solid nodular lesion, light brown and fleshy.

Female 39 years

Head and neck. Right Parotid Gland. Mixed signal mass right parotid, 6 month history of slow growing tender mobile mass ? PSA ?Warthins ?malignant.

Macroscopic description:
A parotidectomy specimen within which is a solid, white, nodular tumour, 20mm in maximum dimension

Male 70 years

Urology. Soft tissue from inguino-scrotal area. Inguino-scrotal lipoma. USS diagnosis of presumed epididymal cyst.

Macroscopic description:
Two irregular fatty pieces, the larger a fatty mass 70 x 50 x 40mm with a smooth outer capsule. Both pieces on slicing appear uniformly fatty throughout.

Male 40 years

Soft tissue. Lump on foot.

Macroscopic description:
Firm, fibrous lump measuring 15 x 12 x 8mm

Female 32 years

Gynaecology. Skin right labia. PAS positive, S100 negative. Cyst right labium.

Macroscopic description:
Pale, firm, irregular piece 19 x 16 x 11mm
