Female 46 years

Known breast cancer metastasis to ovary. Bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy to remove met and for ongoing hormonal reduction.

Specimen: A solid ovarian mass 6.6 x 5.3 x 3.8 cm with attached fallopian tube 3.8 cm long including fimbria which appears normal; the surface of the mass is smooth and lobulated and on slicing has a variably gelatinous, pale and haemorrhagic appearance.



Special stains/IHC results:
GATA3, E-cadherin and ER (strong, diffuse). Patchy positivity for PR and synaptophysin. SATB2 shows focal weak positivity of uncertain significance. CK7, CK20, PAX8, GCDFP15, chromogranin, CD56, calretinin and CDX2 are negative.

Female 83 years

Right lower lid biopsy proven basaloid epithelial tumour with sebaceous differentiation.

Specimen: A wedge of lower eyelid measuring 26 mm (H) x 17 mm (V) x 7 mm (AP). There is subtle nodularity along the lid margin and lower eyelid skin measuring approximately 15 x 6 mm.



Special stains/IHC results:
Positive Adipophyllin, EMA. Negative Androgen receptor.

Specimen: Stomach wedge measuring 9 cm along the staple line with up to 3.4 cm in depth. The staple line margin was inked. Slicing shows pale submucosal uniform solid mass measuring 3.9 cm in maximum dimension. The mass is located 0.9 cm away from the closest gastric resection margin.

Positive S100, SOX-10. Negative AE1/3, CD117, CD34, DOG1, desmin, SMA, caldesmon and ALK-1.

Myoepithelial markers (p63, SMM) are negative surrounding and throughout the lesion. ER and PR positive (8/8).

Caecum and ascending colon tumour.

Specimen: Right hemicolectomy specimen containing 120 mm tumour involving caecum and ascending colon. Overlying serosa puckered and strictured.



Special stains/IHC results:
Tumour cells are positive for AE1/AE3, CDX2 and Calretinin. Tumour cells are negative for CK7, CK20, CD56, Synaptophysin and Chromogranin A. Ki67 proliferation index is high (>80%).
