Rectovaginal fistula, radiologically sigmoid cancer. Previous TAHBSO for ovarian cancer.

Specimen: Vaginal biopsy.

Diffuse strong positivity for CDX2 and SATB2, patchy staining for CK20. P53 mutational type. Negative CK7, PAX8, WT1, ER and PR.

Female 20 years

Breastfeeding patient with a large necrotic breast mass ? abscess, ? malignancy.

Specimen: Left mastectomy (230 x 193 mm x 115 mm in maximum depth), bearing a large ulcerated exophytic fungating mass measuring 210 x 179 mm x up to 100 mm. The mass has a variegated whitish grey and yellowish cut surface with areas of haemorrhage and necrosis.

Specimen: Small bowel resection. A segment of bowel measuring 450 mm. There is mucosal irregularity, oedema and ulceration.

Female 62 years

Presenting with M3 U3 echogenic mass on right outer breast. Radiologically: Unusual ? fibrosis, ? fatty component. Patient underwent core biopsy.

Specimen: Core biopsy. Several needle cores of grey/yellow tissue the longest measures 10 mm.



Special stains/IHC results:

E-cadherin neg, ER pos 8/8, PR neg 2/8, Her 2 neg 0, MIB1 - <5%. NB. Core bx also performed under u/s control of single abnormal axillary lymph node.

Case BG14

Female 40 years

Emergency laparotomy. Disrupted tumour throughout abdomen and pelvis from ruptured ovarian mass, presumed endometrial carcinoma.

Specimen: TAH/BSO and omentectomy done with peritoneal biopsies. The section provided is from the endometrial tumour. The ovarian tumour shows identical morphology.



Special stains/IHC results:

Patchy staining for CK7, ER and PR and patchy staining for CDX2, AFP and Glypican 3.

Specimen: Multiple pieces of tissue.



Special stains/IHC results:

Tumour is positive for calretinin, thrombomodulin. Tumour is negative for BER-Ep4, CEA, CK5/6 and HBME1.

Female 51 years

Radical hysterectomy for cervical neoplasm, maximum dimension of tumour 25 mm. Radiologically cervical neoplasm with no extrauterine disease identified.

Specimen: No details provided.



Special stains/IHC results:

Tumour cells are strongly positive with PAX-8 and CK7. There is diffuse positivity with ER and PR (PR to a lesser extent). Focal positivity with CEA and MUC6. Occasional cells positive with CDX-2. P53 wild type staining. P16 and CK20 are negative.
